COLOMBIA
A big % of young person Growing up in Colombia in the 80s from a poor social context experience the consequences of the long-standing internal conflict and the emerging drug trafficking., corruption, poverty and a normalise social state of Violence. 10 million people direct victims of the conflict, including 6 million Internal Displaced people. In this circumstances A big quantity of young people in the rurales areas in my country became combatants, and in city areas were attracted for the economical abundance that the cocaine businesses brought to the country.
Growing up in that context A creative social project, as part of my obligatory military services, showed me the power of the arts when they are in direct contact with people that have less access to creative and safe spaces. From that instant and until today I have been using art in my work with a diverse range of communities, including: police, army, ex guerrilla and paramilitaries young soldiers, young people, internal displaced people, artist.
