DESATA
A true testimony from the artist..
A migrant woman who survived violent environments at her original homeland, and at her new one.
She construct a performance specifically designed to be broadcasted via online video.
This piece unfolds through the memories of the early years of conflict-ridden rural Colombian life, moving through the displacement/escape from that setting which leads to a re-victimising migration.
The vivid awareness of her journey and her history, filled with shadows and chains, also leads her to recognise her resilience, her power, and thanks to her own conviction and a personal need, this woman decides to write the new chapters of her life based on giving, empathy, and forgiveness. She makes this decision because she recognises that these are tools to find her own inner peace, to free herself, to unleash the ties that bind her to heavy yokes of pain and hatred.
